Hello, so a few years ago I bought a pc for gaming and used wifi only (connected through a usb thing), now I've moved to uni and cant use the public wifi because it's too slow, so I wanted to try use wired instead, but I've found that theres something missing in my pc that won't let me use it at all as I don't have any adapter thing showing a Local Area connection, but I don't know where to start, what do I need to buy for my pc?

Please help.
