How do a polish boot treated with Dubbin wax

Hello,
I treated my cat leather boots with Dubbin and a hairdryer so that the Dubbin got completely impregnated into the leather. But the leather is still sticky and every time I go out of the boots get dirty with dust and look terrible.
Is there a way to polish them somehow?
Probably apply another layer of more polishable wax or spray?
