Boxing Day Championship information

The Owls made it four wins from five on Sunday and Jack Critchley believes that they side can continue their superb form against struggling Stoke… You can refer to the best free soccer prediction share with us!

Potters in trouble against in-form visitors

Sheffield Wednesday moved up lớn third in the Championship table on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 victory against Bristol City. The penalty decision may have been a little on the soft side, however the Owls thoroughly deserved their victory as they out-shot their opponents 15-3 and missed several decent opportunities to make the scoreline far more comfortable.

Garry Monk's side have been very efficient in recent weeks and have lost just one of their last eight matches in the second tier. The former Birmingham boss described his side as 'relentless' in their pursuit of victory at Hillsborough and despite the loss of topscorer Stephen Fletcher, they always looked favourites to secure three points. An illness ruled the striker out of the weekend's contest, although the Scot may recover in time for a trip to Stoke on Boxing Day. The South Yorkshire club have a plethora of options in the final third with Jordan Rhodes, Atdhe Nuhiu and Sam Winnall all able lớn step into the breach should the prolific frontman fail to make a full recovery- According lớn the soccer handicap tip pages!

Wednesday recently stuck four past Nottingham Forest at the City Ground and they have also won four of their five away matches against bottom half sides so far this season. Monk's men are the highest away goalscorers in the division, having notched 21 times on their travels so far, and they will be expected to add to that tally against a porous Stoke City.

The Potters took another step backwards with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at the Riverside Stadium on Friday night. Micheal O'Neill's side may be able lớn benefit from an extra days rest, however their recent form is far from convincing. They've lost five of their six home matches against top-half opposition this season and have taken just 11 points from a possible 36 at this venue.

The hosts are still struggling lớn find the right formation and despite being in the job for just over a month, the Northern Ireland boss hasn't been able lớn get his side firing in the final third. Only four sides have scored fewer Championship goals than Stoke this season and despite being able lớn call upon Lee Gregory, Sam Vokes and Scott Hogan, midfielder Sam Clucas remains the club's top goalscorer having netted on just six occasions.

Their home form has improved in recent weeks, although three of their last four fixtures at this ground have come against fellow bottom half dwellers and this is likely to be significantly tougher. Sheffield Wednesday arrive full of confidence and with just two defeats since the beginning of October, they can be classed as upwardly mobile. With Barry Bannan getting back lớn his imperious best and Dominic Iorfa and Tom Leesbeginning to form a formidable partnership at the heart of the defence, they look like genuine play-off contenders.

The Owls are available at 2.84 on the Exchange and that price looks worth snapping up. The visitors should be able lớn offer the travelling fans plenty of festive cheer and make it four matches unbeaten on the road.

Mitrovic to punish hapless Hatters

Fulham got back lớn winning ways at the weekend with a 2-1 victory over high-flying Leeds. It was a vitally important win which helped ease the pressure on manager Scott Parker following a run of three straight defeats. The Whites have a number of star players in their squad, although Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is undeniably the key man.

The 25-year old forward has previously enjoyed success at this level having netted 12 times in 20 appearances during the Cottagers 2017/18 promotion winning campaign. He's already surpassed that total and comes into this contest searching for his 18th goal of the season. Remarkably, he's now just three goals shy of matching his 2014/15 total, which was achieved whilst playing for Anderlecht in the Belgian top flight.

He averages almost four shots per game and has also been assigned penalty duties. He netted from the spot at the weekend and has now scored in five of his last seven appearances. Almost 50% of this goals this season have arrived on the road and he is likely lớn enjoy plenty of freedom at Kenilworth Road on Boxing Day.
