Fresh air vs recirc & cabin air filter dirtiness

So Malo83 are trying to say that pulling outside air through the filter == recirculating air inside the car?

I think its pretty obvious that pulling outside air will get it dirtier.

OTOH does it matter... no. I'm on outside air the whole year unless I want recirculate for the A/C during summer. Cant recirculate all winter and some spring and fall due to humidity and fogging windows,I always default to fresh air unless there is a specific reason to recirc, such as a very cold or hot car. As a result, my vehicles always smell fresh or leathery if newer. OTOH, my wife defaults to recirc and a defrost setting as she is scared to death of a fogged up window. Her car smells like [censored].
